Photo and Art Exhibition – Love & Health

Sponsored by the Dutch Consulate
This exhibition showcases Love & Health, and how they intertwine. No matter what your orientation is, love and health should not be taken for granted.
This show features three groups of artists who express their own interpretations of love, emotions, and the importance of health for each of them. Love comes in every form and so does art. This exhibition will show contrasting artistic techniques from Chinese Yunnan style art, oil painting to handicraft. These artists hope to share their ideas and spread awareness to the world through their art.
PAW

Positive Art Workshop was established in 2002 by Beijing Yo’An Hospital, co-founded with Jose Adab (Spain) and Diana Valarezo (Ecuador). Now it is managed by Song Penfei with the support of the Fort Trust Fund. It provides those infected with HIV and AIDS with a brand-new form of treatment through the integration of art and psychotherapy, enabling them to regain their peace of mind and return to society.
Not only do these workshops teach actual skills in painting, calligraphy and handicrafts, patients are also given the opportunity to interact with people from all ages and walks of life, express their feelings, be creative, relax, build their self esteem, and increase the social understanding of their particular situation.
Patients can also earn a basic living through the sale of artwork created at PAW and ultimately, HIV/AIDS awareness is also increased through exposure of the artwork created in the workshops.
