Recap | An Evening with Vincent Lacoste

On May 30, a ShanghaiPRIDE Film Festival Special Screening event was held at the Department for Culture and Education of the German Consulate General in Shanghai, where Sorry Angel, the Palme d’Or and Queer Palm nominee of 2018 Cannes Film Festival, was screened.

After the film screening, the Deputy Consul General of the Consulate General of France in Shanghai, Philippe Wieber spoke about the developments of the LGBTQ community in France and the anti-discrimination policies created over the years. He also gave his best wishes to ShanghaiPRIDE for another year of success.

The special screening was fully booked immediately upon release as Vincent Lacoste, the main cast of Sorry Angel, made an appearance to meet and greet the audience. After the film, Vincent shared with the audience behind-the-scenes stories on the unique cinematography and choice of film titles.

Vincent also expressed support for the LGBTQ community, and shared his belief that films are a great medium to showcase the diversity of the society and hard work of the community.
