Who is DIVINE? To appreciate her oeuvre, forget about good taste, good manners, and all but the filthiest conventions!

Born Harris Glenn Milstead, this Baltimore-native earned his stage name Divine from his lifelong soulmate and infamous scoundrel of American cinema, John Waters, with a tagline —“the most beautiful woman in the world, almost.” Carrying this identity for more than twenty years of her career, Divine shocked everyone with her insolent fierceness and unconventional beauty, through her acting, singing, and stage performance. The diva of all divas, the fiercest of all queens, it is no wonder that People Magazine named her the “drag queen of the (20th) century.”

Thursday, April 16th, CinemQ returns to Dada with a cinematic presentation of re-edited scenes from Divine’s major works and documentaries devoted to her, followed by a whole night of Hi-NRG/disco music from Discomic divas, Tobias and Nik, who will bring you back to the glorious late 70s and early 80s, when no one was afraid to be a queen defying all norms.
