Queer Talks – Future Queer Families
Queer Talks
Future Queer Families
Sunday SEP 27
17:00-19:30
LOCATION: Cambio Coffee, 861 Jiangning Lu, close to Haifang Lu
Following our previous talk on Shanghai LGTBQIA & Family, we now look at the future and try to imagine how will we shape our own families, that may not be remotely close to a traditional nuclear family. If we acknowledge that the concept of family as we know it is a social construct, many questions arise: Where does the “proper family structure” originate from? Does a family have to be tied together by blood? Are other types of family less valid? How do you think family structure is changing and could change? Do queer communities need “families”? Come and share your views with us!
