In the scope of popular culture, LGBTQIA+ individuals are becoming more visible and more accepted by the mainstream. However, within this larger acceptance comes ‘pinkwashing,’ or an appeal to queer-friendliness as a means of pushing commercial or political agendas.

This week, Queer Talks dissects its many implications for queer individuals the world over. How does the exploitation of queer culture by capitalist organizations, politicians, and media harm our community? Are there international consequences of pinkwashing that affect LGBTQIA+ individuals in our increasingly global society? Please feel free to come and take part of our discussion.
