In the larger fight for the elevation of LGTBQ+ peoples, non-LGBTQ+ allies from outside of the community are very important for spreading awareness and supporting their friends within the community. Being an ally is a complex situation, as the role calls on individuals to both give direct support to and provide space for members of the LGBTQ+ community to make achievements for themselves. This Sunday, Queer Talks will examine the roles of allies in increasing the effectiveness of LGBTQ+ movements as we ponder how a balance can be struck between direct action and moral support.
