【Recap】Muju Theatre
Shanghai, June 16th – “Seasons of Love”, a modern drama which described love being changeable like the weather of the four seasons, kicked off the 2016 ShanghaiPRIDE Theatre Festival. After three consecutive performances from June 16th to 18th, the drama ended on a high note. The Muju Theatre Group broke traditional norms by having actresses play male roles. Every audience can find their love story in this play.
What is love? Poets always write about great love stories, they think love is powerful enough to break everything. But in this theatre, seven leading roles portrayed four different love stories without any exaggerated plots, only ordinary lives and sincere love!
What stops love? Is it the fear of “MO”, strong ego of “LAN”, the different life goals of “HONG”, or the long distance relationship between “QING” and “CHENG”?
What makes love last? “BAI” waited for “MO” for a long time, “LV”’s pursure of “LAN”, “ZI” was unable to forget “HONG”, or “QING” gave up everything and ran away with “CHENG”?
In the end, the reason we find love torturing is because people made it too complicated. What love really means is perhaps the moment you and I are together.
