From the Conductor:
This concert celebrates the true spirit of “love” and “courage”.
Leslie Cheung’s “Me”, Fish Leong‘s “Courage” and Fei-Fei Fong’s “Dream Chaser” are just a few classics that came to my mind when we decided to present our very first Chinese concert. Then I heard Aska Yang’s rendition of “A Thousand Roads”, which soon became the title and panorama of this concert.
Love is beautiful but can be hard. Everyone has their own story of love, but few of them are perfect. We should keep up our courage, carry on and love on. This is the message we want to share, not only with the members of the community, but also with all the audience.
The Hyperbolic Singers, the first and only LGBT chorus in Shanghai, was founded in 2012 and has now more than 50 members. We have performed in the previous ShanghaiPRIDE LGBTQ Groups Open Days and Red Ribbon Gala Dinner, and also held our first open concert “Keep Your Lamps!—4th Anniversary Concert” in December 2016 at Huangpu Theatre.
