Event Recap: ShanghaiPRIDE 2017 Pink Party – Out, Proud and Pink!

ShanghaiPRIDE celebrated diversity with 50 Shades of Pink on 17-June.
Over 1000 attendees donned their best rosy attire and headed to the Bund to end the ninth annual ShanghaiPRIDE festival with a bang. The cool summer weather and rooftop view overlooking the Pearl Tower provided the perfect setting for an outdoor party.
Performers with fabulous costumes greeted the guests at the entrance and guests were encouraged to write on the backdrop what the slogan of this year “The Time is Now” meant to them.
The Pink Party featured sizzling performances by professional samba dancers and some of Shanghai’s favorite drag queens, and lots of lucky winners took home amazing raffle prizes.
Throughout the evening, raffle prizes raised funds for CnPRIDE as well as the Teacher Gender Equity Education Workshop by Guangzhou Gay and Lesbian Campus Association of China.
