Queer Talks – Feminism & Queer Theory
Intersectionality recognizes that in gender, sexuality, race and ethnicity, certain groups are oppressed by the same colonial and patriarchal system, thus finding unity in our diverse (and multifaceted) identities.
In the first installment of our trilogy on INTERSECTIONALITY, Queer Talks will explore how academic frameworks such as Feminist and Queer Theory are interconnected by the subjugation of women or “feminine qualities”. How can we use these tools to develop deeper personal and social understanding? How do queer and feminist ideologies work to help all identities find inclusion? And how can we reconcile differences in theory with real, shared experience? March 4, 5:30-8pm @ Roxie
