Pride12 Art Exhibition Open for Submission

Are you an artist or photographer with a unique point of view about what it means to have “Pride”? The ShanghaiPRIDE Art Exhibition is back this June, and we are currently seeking submissions from the talented artists in our community. Our theme this year is Raise the Pride, so we are looking for artwork that explores what it means to celebrate who you are and to let your colors fly free.

The concept of “Pride” has an endless variety of meaning – we can find Pride in our daily lives, our loved ones, our work, our beliefs, our community or our personal identity.

This year, we hope to discover new artists in our community and get inspired by their creative ideas and visual storytelling. So grab a paintbrush, camera or mobile phone and share with us how you Raise the Pride!

ShanghaiPRIDE Art Exhibition aims to provide a platform of expression for artists in the LGBTQ community as well as their allies. The exhibition accepts artworks in different formats. The submission period runs from March 16 to April 19, 2020. Selected work(s) will be showcased at the Pride Art Opening this June.

Detailed Information on this Exhibition

Whether you’re inspired by work, daily life, the LGBTQ community or what you’ve witnessed in the streets, tell your story of pride through art.

Requirement

We accept artworks in different formats. No restriction on artistic styles such as choice of characters, colors, and settings, etc. However, artworks must not contain violent and sexually explicit content.

Quantity

Each participant is allowed to submit one artwork, or one set of artwork with no more than 3 artworks included.

All personal information will remain strictly confidential.

Deadline

All artworks will go through a process of selection, printing, arrangement, and layout design by ShanghaiPRIDE. Please submit your artwork before April 19, 2020 21:00. Any artwork received after will not be considered.

Others

Our organizer will make further contact with the selected artworks and their artists at the end of May.

The exhibition will take place from June 12 to 21 (address TBD).

The number of artworks included in the final exhibition will depend on the site. ShanghaiPRIDE reserves the right of final decision and interpretation in the case of any disputes related to this exhibition.
