2020 Pride Open Day: Call for Groups!

ShanghaiPRIDE Pride Open Day (formerly, LGBTQ Groups Open Day) is back!

Since 2014, LGBTQ groups from across China and nearby regions have come together with one common goal and voice. Pride Open Day aims to bring together LGBTQ communities specialized in different fields of work and services to provide a platform for discussions and collaborative work to increase LGBTQ visibility and acceptance. Every year, over 30 community groups get together to set up exhibits and discuss community engagement projects. It is a fabulous event that’s not to be missed!

This year’s Pride Open Day will be held on June 13 in Shanghai (location TBC). We cannot wait to catch up with old friends and make new ones.

Pride Open Day will comprise of two sections: the groups showcase and workshops hosted in an open and accepting environment. We invite all LGBTQ groups to join and work on topics that concern the community.

In the groups showcase, your group will be able to communicate face-to-face with other groups to share and learn. Attendees of Pride Open Day will have the opportunity to learn more about your group. We want your group to gain wider recognition, followers, participants, volunteers, and partners.

For the workshops, we will invite guest speakers to lead the conversation, which we hope will motivate LGBTQ groups to impact their community at a greater scale.

Recruitment

We welcome applications from all groups that provide services and promote diversity in their local LGBTQ communities.

To better promote diversity, the following groups will receive priority selection.
Groups established less than two years ago
Groups offering mental health support and services
Groups that have worked with businesses
Transgender groups
Groups run by a core team consisting of at least three volunteers.

Application Deadline

Please apply before 21:00 on April 17 (if attendees wish to make any changes, please inform us by April 24).

We will review your application upon submissions. We will contact you via email at the beginning of May. Please ensure that the email address you provide is correct.
