Recap | Rainbow Bike Riders Voice Up
In celebration of IDAHOT and as a warm-up for ShanghaiPRIDE 2020, the Rainbow Bike Ride took place on Sunday morning, May 17.
The early summer day brought us perfectly sunny, breezy weather for biking as six teams of participants, each wearing T-shirts sponsored by The Clinic in one of the six colors of the Pride rainbow flag, took off from every corner of Shanghai to unite together at the final destination.
The six bike teams, representing red, orange, yellow, green, blue and purple, started respectively from Houtan Park, Shanghai Buyecheng Park, Hongqiao Park, Yangjiadu Ferry, Bansongyuan Road, and Gumei Popular Science Park. As they biked across various districts of Shanghai, leaving behind a beautiful rainbow of colors, many participants recorded the scenery and laughter along the journey with photography and vlogs.
Participants also stopped once during the ride at Wagas to enjoy their exclusive Pride month drink, Rainbow Speedster, which provided a bit of cool refreshment from the early summer sun.
At around 11 a.m., the bike teams arrived at the destination one after another. Under the guidance of the leaders, the teams parked together, took group photos showing off their rainbow T-shirts, and wrapped up the event.
2020 is meant to be an extraordinary year. It’s a great start for ShanghaiPRIDE this year as the Rainbow Bike Ride went off smoothly without a hitch. Here’s wishing all other pride events in June a wonderful success!
Proceeds from the ride will be utilized for subsequent pride events. Special thanks to our sponsors The Clinic, Wagas, Baker & Spice, Allegis Global Solutions, Roxie, and Liquid Laundry for their support, as well as everyone who participated in the ride. It’s your support that made the 2020 Rainbow Bike Ride a success!
