Volunteer Task Description & Requirements

Merchandise Sales
- Selling merchandise and raffle tickets are important methods of fundraising for ShanghaiPRIDE.
- Volunteers must know the merchandise for sale and the prizes for raffles.
- During raffle draw, volunteers will manage the winner list and digital announcement.
- We need responsible, cheerful, and outgoing volunteers with good bilingual communication skills.
On-Site Support
- Volunteers will manage guest reception, box office, ushering, crowd control, and security.
- Volunteers will help in setting up the venue in terms of equipment, stage, and floor layout.
- At performing events, volunteers will need to manage performers, green room, and backstage.
- We are looking for responsible, calm, dedicated, and proactive volunteers to help out at various events.
Design
- Design flyers, posters, maps, programs, and all types of materials used for promoting ShanghaiPRIDE.
- Ensure that all promotional materials maintain the same design aesthetics and templates.
- Proficient in all design software.
- Volunteers must be able to organize information being sent from different people at different times.
- Volunteers must be able to work under tight deadlines.
- Designers must be creative.
Photography & Videography
- Good in outdoor and indoor shoots.
- Volunteers must have good perspective to take shots of crowd, scene, products, and individuals.
- Must know how to use photo editing software.
Pride Run/Picnic/Biking
- We need sporty, cheerful, proactive volunteers.
- Volunteers must be able to communicate in Chinese and English.
- Volunteers should be able to put in at least 2-3 hours per week.
- If you have some experience in organizing outdoor activities, that would be great.
Film Festival
- We need volunteers during the preparation period when we select film that will be shown at the film festival.
- Volunteers should know enough Chinese and English so that they can help with translations.
- We also need someone who knows how to create insert subtitles into movies.
- Prior and during film-screenings, we need volunteers to check and operate the equipment.
Pride Parties
- Party team requires production-planning and on-site support.
- Designers – design marketing materials, photo wall, and props; plan layout and create digital images.
- Production crew – Manage performers and program for the event.
