Women Up! – Ladies Who Tech

May 26th – Women Up! Professional Women’s Networking Forum welcomed nearly two hundred attendees to The Langham, Shanghai, Xintiandi.

US Consul Arati Shroff opened the forum with a speech about her career development in diplomacy and the challenges she has met in the workplace as a woman, comparative with her male counterparts.

The first guest speaker was Rachel Dayou, founder of gift giving app Li Haoma. She shared her story of being an expatriate in China working across different industries and successfully founding and growing her own business.

The second speaker was by Lilian Shen, founder of Women Up!. With a background in industry, commerce and finance, she discussed with attendees about how she gives back to the community through her understanding of science and new technologies.

The third speaker was Sammy Wu, founder of Rela, the most downloaded lesbian social app in China. She gave insight into the operations of Rela from the perspective of how mobile internet is currently changing lesbians’ life.

Summer Wu of ShanghaiPRIDE closed the forum with two teaser videos from the Pride8 campaign video, “I Am Me”, featuring Li Yinhe and Qiu Bai.
