01 ShanghaiPRIDE Film Festival
June 12, ShanghaiPRIDE Film Festival continued at the Department for Culture and Education of German Consulate General in Shanghai successfully. The films screened include the nominees from ShPFF 2018 Chinese Short Film AwardsInsomnia and Ray; French film 120 BPM. More than 100 audience crowded the venue and enjoyed the films together.
One of the highlights of the evening was the two Chinese short films are from Taiwan. The audience were able to learn more about the developments and differences of LGBTQ films from various regions.
Deputy Consul General of the Consulate General of France in Shanghai, Mr. Philippe Wieber shared the achievements and challenges of the LGBTQ community in France before the screening of 120 BPM.
120 BPM, the nominee of Palme D’or Award 2017, Best Film of Caesar Award 2017, tells a story about members of the advocacy group ACT UP in Paris demanding action by the government and pharmaceutical companies to combat the AIDS epidemic in the early 1990s.
Philippe Mangeot, the screenwriter of 120 BPM, sent his wishes to ShPFF via a video message and told the audience that he will be visiting Shanghai at the end of June.
The films are welcomed by the audience. The quotas are grabbed empty soon in the first few days. The audience who failed to register up have to came to the venue in advance.
