On the evening of June 20, the first day of ShPFF Special Screenings was held at Roxie. The rainy weather did not stop people from enjoying the films together.

Before the screening, Mr. Weldon Epp, Consul General of the Consulate General of Canada in Shanghai introduced the Canadian film Fire Song and sent his best wishes to ShanghaiPRIDE.

The films screened include the nominee from ShPFF 2018 Chinese Short Film Awards The Rainbow Effect, Canadian feature film Fire Song, Asia-Pacific Queer Film Festival (APQFFA) short film pack A Thousand Years of Love, Between Us Two, Dear, Losing Sight of A Longed Place, Sweet Dreaming and The Fish Curry.

There are several outstanding films among the six APQFFA short films, such as Between Us Two, the Best Singaporean Short Film at the 28th Singapore International Film Festival, which focused on the dialogue between a gay son and his dead mother; Losing Sight of A Longed Place, Best Animated Short Film of the 54th Golden Horse Award, is a story about the long-standing gap between a son and the father.

Onse Jeon, the director of Dear; Katie Escane, director of Sweet Dreaming; Abhishek Verma, the director of The Fish Curry; Andrew Martin, the actor of Fire Song shared more about their films and sent their best wishes to ShanghaiPRIDE via video messages.
