Pride11 Art&Photo Exhibition Open for Submissions

If you’ve ever had the urge to share your brilliance, hey, don’t hide it beneath the table! This June, from 8th to 16th, ShanghaiPRIDE Art & Photo Exhibition will make its epic return! “Pride” is a concept with varied understandings; it may come from our daily lives, a hug, a kiss, a social gathering, or a clash of ideas… This time, speak up for yourself, and when it comes to things that cannot be expressed with words, say it with art!

ShanghaiPRIDE Art & Photo Exhibition aims to provide a platform of expression for artists in the LGBTQ community as well as their allies. This year, we will discover artists hiding around us through works of photography and paintings. So bring your talented self and share your masterpieces with us! Your work(s) will be showcased at the Pride Art Opening, where audience will vote for their top 3 favourites! Tons of surprises and gifts await you!

Detailed Information on this Exhibition

The exhibition is divided into two categories: photography and painting. We look forward to your story, whether it was inspired from work, daily life, the LGBTQ community, or what you’ve witnessed in the streets. Tell your story of pride through art.

Photography Unit

Requirement

No restriction on shooting equipment. No restriction on artistic styles such as choice of characters, colors, and settings, etc. However, works must not contain violent and sexually explicit content.

Color

No restriction;

Image size

Mobile image: 1.5 MB – 4 MB each;

Camera image: 4 MB – 7 MB each;

Quantity

Each participant is allowed to submit one image, or one set of work with no more than 3 images included;If your submission file size exceeds 10MB, please submit via Baidu cloud drive or any other online sharing method.

Painting Unit

Requirement

No restrction on artistic styles such as choice of characters, colors, and settings, etc. However, works must not contain violent and sexually explicit content.

Deadline

All work will go through a process of selection, printing, arrangement, and layout design by ShanghaiPRIDE. Please submit your work before April 15th, 2019 21:00 by email. Any work received after will not be considered.

Others

All the selected works and their artists will be announced on ShanghaiPRIDE WeChat official account at the end of May. Our organizer will make further contact with the selected artists.The exhibition will take place from June 8th to 16th (address TBD). 2 weeks of online exhibition will be available after. The top 3 voted works will be decided from both online and offline exhibitions. Voters are also entered into a lucky draw for 10 surprise gifts!The number of works included in the final exhibition will depend on the site. ShanghaiPRIDE reserves the right of final decision and interpretation in the case of any disputes related to this exhibition.
