East West Theatre presents “Bite My Thumb,” a reinvention of the popular story into a modern-day gay love triangle, setting two ‘gangs’ of off-off-Broadway productions against each other in a flamboyant subversion of traditional gender roles.
Female-to-male transgender meets lesbian cross-dressing, and lesbian butch squares off against male machismo, in this swashbuckling comedy that takes place for two performances only on June 18.

The inaugural ShanghaiPRIDE Film Festival (ShPFF) successfully launched its Opening Night at The Pearl, one of the city’s most historical theaters, featuring the first public screening of Lilting (Hong Khaou, 2014) in China. The events of the day were attended by an immensely diverse crowd. In the audience were also representatives of the Festival’s sponsors (Zank, everman, and yuejunyou.com) and the British Consulate-General Shanghai, which supported the Opening Night.

ShanghaiPRIDE 2015 Pride Run and Pink BBQ【Ended】
Registration starts now!
China’s longest-running reoccurring LGBTQ event ShanghaiPRIDE will kick off on the Saturday morning of June 13th, 2015. For the third consecutive year, the week-long festival will be opened by a 6km city run passing through Shanghai’s various iconic sights, after which the crowd will be invited to celebrate diversity with a lunchtime BBQ at The Langham, Shanghai, Xintiandi, relaxing 5th level terrace lounge, XTD elevated. The venue’s encompassing view on the city’s popular Xintiandi district will be accompanied by a number of colorful performances.
As allocation for runners is limited, participants are required to register online in advance. All runners will receive a goody bag by everman – the best lube, an official American Apparel Pride T-shirt, as well as free entry to the ensuing BBQ. Non-running peers joining their friends are welcome at the BBQ.

ShanghaiPRIDE 2015 Panel Discussion “LGBT & Family”【Ended】
The panel discussion explores, from a professional perspective, the various possibilities and real-life challenges that Chinese same-sex couples face in constructing families and raising children. The panel discussion will invite to stage two same-sex couples who have and plan to raise children, two parents from PFLAG China, and two sociologists and medical experts. The couples will share their experience of parenting in same-sex families, as well as how to achieve family happiness. The parents will contribute their insights and feelings towards their homosexual children building families. The experts will seek to analyze from sociological and medical perspectives the various obstacles Chinese same-sex couples face in starting families and their solutions.
ShanghaiPRIDE 2015 Rainbow Bike Ride【Ended】

This is a brand-new night-time event for Pride7. Six teams, each representing a different color of the rainbow flag, will ride along six different routes to join together at Brownstone, Yongjia Court, where an after-ride party will be held.
Riding time varies from 30 minutes to 1 hour for each route. We will equip all your bikes with lights of different colors. The moment when the “six-color rainbow” is united will be recorded by camera.
Register soon as space is limited. All participant will receive a goody bag with a t-shirt and a special drink voucher. All proceeds will be donated to Snow Lotus Lesbian Assocition.

ShanghaiPRIDE Unveils Plans for Art & Photo Exhibition
Shanghai, May 25, 2015 – This year’s ShanghaiPRIDE Art & Photo Exhibition promises to be bigger and better than ever, with six featured artists presenting creations inspired by their experiences in Shanghai and the Pride7 theme, “Love is Our Future.” The exhibition will run throughout Pride week, June 12th-21st, and features photography by Moggy Chang, Bin Hu and Scotty So, as well as paintings by James Jarvis and Gabriel Munguia. This year’s exhibition also won great support and sponsorship by an Italian restaurant- Garden Restaurant & Bar.

American Apparel teams up with ShanghaiPRIDE again for Pride7, ShanghaiPRIDE’s seventh annual week-long festival celebrating the LGBTQ (Lesbian Gay Bi-Sexual Trans-sexual Queer) community. This year, American Apparel has produced a limited edition Pride7-themed t-shirt featuring the winning design from Pride7’s t-shirt design competition. The t-shirt reflects this year’s theme of “Love Is Our Future”, which refers to love in the form of connections among LGBTQ individuals; same-sex marriage; and support and tolerance from family, friends, colleagues and allies regardless of lifestyle, gender or sexual orientation.

ShanghaiPRIDE Launches Official Theatre Festival
Shanghai, – This June, the ShanghaiPRIDE Theatre Festival (ShPTF) is ready to roll out an outstanding collection of theatre pieces for ShanghaiPRIDE that aims to broaden the art’s representation of LGBT lives and challenge, explore, and embrace its LGBT characters. Established as an alternate artistic experience to Pride’s many parties, the Theatre Festival gives theatre-goers a glimpse into what queer art can look like in China, and engages both local Chinese and English-speaking theatre companies. Shows start from the beginning of June with pre-Pride acts and then run on after Pride week, sizzling with dance, music, song, and drama through a diverse range of acts with some of the best performers in Shanghai.
