Every year ShanghaiPRIDE donates the proceeds to various organizations.
Team China is a non-profitable community whose mission is to increase participation, inclusion, and personal best of all adults through sports and culture. Its primary focus is the promotion of Paris 2018 Gay Games 10 in China, and the organisation of Team China to the Games in Paris.
From August 4 to 12 in Paris, 100 participants are expected to join Team China to compete, play, share, and have fun. The participants will participate in Basketball, Badminton, Cycling, Diving, Marathon, Martial Arts, Swimming, Tennis, Table Tennis, Track & Field, Triathlon, 5K & 10K Running Races, Volleyball, etc. Please join us. Team China will march in the Jean Bouin stadium on August 3, 2018 during the Opening Ceremony as the biggest ever Chinese Team in the history of Gay Games. All the support from this year’s ShanghaiPRIDE Pride Run will be used for the preparation of this team and march.
Raffle sales of ShanghaiPRIDE 2018 will be donated to the Trans organizations below, in hopes of contributing to gender diversity and Trans rights in China. Beneficiaries include Trans-Life from Beijing, TransTalks from Shanghai, Trans Sanctuary from Nanjing and Trans Center from Guangzhou.
Trans-Life is a Trans educational and service organization, founded by 16 transgender people in January, 2015. Trans-Life hopes that by disseminating transgender health and legal knowledge in the public sphere it will aid in promoting a better understanding and friendlier treatment of transgender people. Another goal of Trans-Life is to help improve the self-image of Trans people, and the overall physical and mental health of Trans individuals through its various programs. Trans-Life also provides many services to the Trans community, such as, gender marker changing guides, workplace training, social integration counseling, etc., to better assist transgender people in adapting to society.
The support will be used for program expenses and operating expenses.
TransTalks provides a friendly and safe environment where the Trans community can have a voice. We can share resources, information and create friendships with like-minded people. Starting from the end of 2017, TransTalks will hold biweekly events.
It will be used for internal training，speakers cost and the cost of attending Trans-related conferences.
They provide Trans Crisis Support and Consultation for trans-genders who are facing domestic violence and employment problem. Now, they have provided shelters, short term free lodging, conducted a temporary intervention in family disputes, established contacts with hospitals, and provided online consultation.
It will be used for sanctuary rent.
Trans Center is trying to help trans individuals gain equal rights and access to social resources. They provide care to trans individuals, friends and families, intervention services and resources for the trans community. They also deal with various types of domestic violence issues.
It will be used for company registration and office rent.
The 10th ShanghaiPRIDE festival will be held on June 8-18, 2018
