The inaugural ShanghaiPRIDE Film Festival (ShPFF) successfully launched its Opening Night at The Pearl, one of the city’s most historical theaters, featuring the first public screening of Lilting (Hong Khaou, 2014) in China. The events of the day were attended by an immensely diverse crowd. In the audience were also representatives of the Festival’s sponsors (Zank, everman, and yuejunyou.com) and the British Consulate-General Shanghai, which supported the Opening Night.

ShanghaiPRIDE 2015 Pride Run and Pink BBQ【Ended】

Registration starts now!

China’s longest-running reoccurring LGBTQ event ShanghaiPRIDE will kick off on the Saturday morning of June 13th, 2015. For the third consecutive year, the week-long festival will be opened by a 6km city run passing through Shanghai’s various iconic sights, after which the crowd will be invited to celebrate diversity with a lunchtime BBQ at The Langham, Shanghai, Xintiandi, relaxing 5th level terrace lounge, XTD elevated. The venue’s encompassing view on the city’s popular Xintiandi district will be accompanied by a number of colorful performances.

As allocation for runners is limited, participants are required to register online in advance. All runners will receive a goody bag by everman – the best lube, an official American Apparel Pride T-shirt, as well as free entry to the ensuing BBQ. Non-running peers joining their friends are welcome at the BBQ.

ShanghaiPRIDE 2015 Panel Discussion “LGBT & Family”【Ended】

The panel discussion explores, from a professional perspective, the various possibilities and real-life challenges that Chinese same-sex couples face in constructing families and raising children. The panel discussion will invite to stage two same-sex couples who have and plan to raise children, two parents from PFLAG China, and two sociologists and medical experts. The couples will share their experience of parenting in same-sex families, as well as how to achieve family happiness. The parents will contribute their insights and feelings towards their homosexual children building families. The experts will seek to analyze from sociological and medical perspectives the various obstacles Chinese same-sex couples face in starting families and their solutions.
