It has been a happening year for ShanghaiPRIDE Film Festival. After the “LGBTQ film marathon” ended in June, we presented to you 6 awesome films who are winners and top favorites from the ShPFF Chinese Short Film Competition in mid-August. This time, we will be screening a film of its time, and joined by a very special guest!

ShPFF Meets MAB “Beauty without Beards”

Last Saturday, despite the hot weather, passionate LGBTQ film lovers packed the “ShPFF x Modern Art Base” Special Screening. When the RSVP opened, seats went out within a few hours and the audience filled up the gallery on event day. We are also very excited that most of the audience attended ShPFF film screening for the first time.

Red Ribbon Gala Dinner Returns 1st December, 2017

According to the Shanghai Municipal Center For Disease Control & Prevention (Shanghai CDC), there were 1,959 reports of HIV infection in Shanghai from 1st January, 2016 to 20th November, 2016, and more than 20% are between ages 18 and 24, an 80% increase year-on-year. Nationwide, there are more than 570,000 people living with HIV/AIDS as at October 2015. Of that number, 9,152 are youths aged between 15 and 24.MORE…    

Thank You Letter from GLCAC (Gay and Lesbian Campus Association of China)

It is an honour for Gay and Lesbian Campus Association of China to receive RMB15,000 from ShanghaiPRIDE in July, 2017 in support of the Teacher Gender Equality Education Workshop (Yangtze River Delta).

Thank You, Volunteers of Team ShanghaiPRIDE 2017!

With another annual festival in the bag, ShanghaiPRIDE held a volunteer appreciation lunch on July 1 to thank all of the dedicated organizers who made Pride9 possible.

Almost 80 volunteers gathered at Jingan restaurant How Fun to receive certificates for their contributions and celebrate another great year. Attendees signed a Pride9 poster as a memento from the festival, and everyone participated in a lucky draw to win prizes from festival sponsors.

Event Recap: ShPFF III – Special Screening Recap

ShanghaiPRIDE Film Festival 2017 screened approximately 40 queer films in just 2 days, on 11 and 18-June, 22 hours of queer films marathon. Due to overwhelming response from the audience, we added a special screening on 20-June evening. Special thanks to all volunteers and audience for the support!

The Time is Now to Vote for Your Favorite Photos

The offline showcase of ShanghaiPRIDE 2017 Pride Art Photo Exhibition, with the theme of “The Time is Now 捕捉多元精彩瞬间 (to capture moments of diversity)” has drawn to a successful close. Within a week’s time, many visited Henkes at Reel Mall for the exhibition and enjoyed the delicious afternoon tea set specially prepared by Henkes during Pride Week. MORE…    

ShanghaiPRIDE CELEBRATES A SUCCESSFUL NINTH YEAR

Shanghai, June 22, 2017—The ninth annual ShanghaiPRIDE festival on June 15-18 with auxiliary events in March, April, and throughout May and June brought together over 6,000 attendees under the theme “The Time is Now,” with a series of cultural, social, and educational events inspiring the community to love fearlessly, live openly, and promote acceptance and equality.
