To celebrate the 10th ShanghaiPRIDE, the ShanghaiPRIDE team presents the “Pride10 Anniversary Gallery”. In contrast to the art and photography exhibitions of previous years, this 3-week exhibition will be centered around ShanghaiPRIDE itself. It will showcase the history, footprints, and stories of the festival over the past decade. You will learn about the memorable experiences of the organizers and participants alike through different artistic mediums. This is an important milestone in the history and development of the LGBTQ community in Shanghai, as well as in Mainland China as a whole.

Women Up! X China Anti-Domestic Violence Network Series II: Grassroots Organizing Workshop

SHANGHAI – After the last panel discussion to raise awareness against gender-based violence, Women Up! X CADVN collaborated with Beijing Common Language to host “Women Up! X China Anti-Domestic Violence Network Series II: Grassroots Organizing Workshop”. We aimed to deepen the participants’ understanding of the development of grassroots organizations in China, provide tools for event planning and execution, and encourage participants to establish or incubate their own projects.

Inaugural HELSC Badminton Championship Event Recap

SHANGHAI – To advocate a healthy and active lifestyle in the female community,HELSC organized its first badminton championship last Sunday with ShanghaiPRIDE as the co-organizer.
The doubles tournament featured 12 women’s teams divided into four groups. After the group competition round and elimination round, the teams of CC & Kong and You You & Jing Jing qualified for the final, with CC & Kong winning 2-1. All teams had a great time in their matches. After the event, many participants expressed hopes for similar events in the future.
A Deeper Collaboration for a Better Tomorrow

SHANGHAI – The 7th China Rainbow Awards was held in Shanghai on January 27, 2018. The awards were initiated by 11 NGOs from all over China, led by event organizer Beijing Gender Health Education Institute. The Rainbow Awards are the first LGBTI-focused forum for evaluating and recognizing media in China. The awards aim to foster objective and in-depth reporting on sexual and gender minorities by Chinese media outlets and journalists, with the goal of nurturing a tolerant, diverse, and fair media environment for the LGBTI community.
