As we move through an especially uncertain year, the importance of shining a light on our communities, promoting acceptance and celebrating diversity has only increased. That is why ShanghaiPRIDE, China’s longest-running annual Pride Festival, is excited to announce that Pride12 is slated for June 12-21, 2020. Our theme this year – “敢晒，敢骄傲 Raise the Pride” – reflects our commitment to asserting our identities and daring to let our true colors fly free. In a time when our world can feel increasingly divided, we hope to focus on what unites us — love, friendship, community, and Pride.

ShanghaiPRIDE’s foundation began in 2009 as a festival celebrating diversity in Shanghai. With this foundation starting over 10 years ago, it is still led entirely by volunteers with the support of businesses, numerous consulates, and media. Our mission is to raise awareness and visibility, promote self-acceptance and overall acceptance of the LGBTQ community in society, academia, and workplace through corporate, cultural, educational, sports, and social activities.MORE…

Calling all designers!

We’re now accepting T-shirt design submissions for ShanghaiPRIDE 2020. The winner’s design will be printed on the Pride12 theme T-shirts; the winner will receive two tickets for free access to the ShanghaiPRIDE Official Party and two T-shirts designed by yourself!MORE…    

Are you an artist or photographer with a unique point of view about what it means to have “Pride”? The ShanghaiPRIDE Art Exhibition is back this June, and we are currently seeking submissions from the talented artists in our community. Since January, the outbreak of COVID-19 has affected every part of our lives in Shanghai.

Local businesses, especially within the F&B industry, have been hit particularly hard due to restrictions and forced closures. Many of the places we know and love are now back open again, and we would like everyone to support them.MORE…
