ShanghaiPRIDE continues its 12th annual celebration with Pride Art, opening on August 9 and continuing through September 6. This year’s theme, “Perspectives: from the community and allies,” represents a collective statement of the LGBTQ community, its allies and supporters, and brings together 17 emerging artists working in various mediums that include photography, printmaking, digital and mixed media. The Pride Art Team has decided to postpone Pride Art 2020, which was initially scheduled to be held 12-21 June, to August because of COVID-19 preventive measures. This is not the end of the rainbow and only a slight pause as we try to figure out the best plan forward.MORE…

The ShanghaiPRIDE Art Exhibition is back this June, and we are currently seeking submissions from the talented artists in our community. Our theme this year is Raise the Pride, so we are looking for artwork that explores what it means to celebrate who you are and to let your colors fly free.MORE…    

On June 8, Pride Art opened at the Polar Bear Gallery that showed public submissions from artists of different occupations, lifestyles, and backgrounds. Through paintbrushes and camera lenses, the artists gave us their unique takes on self-identity, diversity, and Pride.MORE…

This June, from 8th to 16th, ShanghaiPRIDE Art & Photo Exhibition will make its epic return! “Pride” is a concept with varied understandings; it may come from our daily lives, a hug, a kiss, a social gathering, or a clash of ideas… This time, speak up for yourself, and when it comes to things that cannot be expressed with words, say it with art!MORE…    

To celebrate the 10th ShanghaiPRIDE, the ShanghaiPRIDE team presents the “Pride10 Anniversary Gallery”. In contrast to the art and photography exhibitions of previous years, this 3-week exhibition will be centered around ShanghaiPRIDE itself. It will showcase the history, footprints, and stories of the festival over the past decade. MORE…

The offline showcase of ShanghaiPRIDE 2017 Pride Art Photo Exhibition, with the theme of “The Time is Now 捕捉多元精彩瞬间 (to capture moments of diversity)” has drawn to a successful close. Within a week’s time, many visited Henkes at Reel Mall for the exhibition and enjoyed the delicious afternoon tea set specially prepared by Henkes during Pride Week. MORE…

The ShanghaiPRIDE 2017 Pride Art Photo Exhibition was officially launched at Henkes, Reel Mall on 16-June. All photos displayed this year were taken by allies and members of the LGBTQ community. Although the photographers have different professions, identities, and backgrounds, they share their feelings and understanding of the theme “The Time is Now” through a common channel – the camera lens. 生为平常 I Am Me

The theme of this year’s ShanghaiPRIDE Art & Photo Exhibition is “性别 Gender”, an extension to the main theme “生为平常 I Am Me”. Five talented artists from different industries will share their understanding of the theme through brush and lens. Thanks to the support of XIN CAFE, this year’s exhibition will go on for two weeks (17-June to 3-July) to encourage more participation. If you are interested, don’t miss the chance to enjoy the art work and, at the same time, a nice cup of coffee.

Shanghai, May 25, 2015 – This year’s ShanghaiPRIDE Art & Photo Exhibition promises to be bigger and better than ever, with six featured artists presenting creations inspired by their experiences in Shanghai and the Pride7 theme, “Love is Our Future.” The exhibition will run throughout Pride week, June 12th-21st, and features photography by Moggy Chang, Bin Hu and Scotty So, as well as paintings by James Jarvis and Gabriel Munguia. This year’s exhibition also won great support and sponsorship by an Italian restaurant- Garden Restaurant & Bar.
